Roberto Sicconi

Dr Sicconi's lifetime goal is to “reinvent” human-machine interfaces by creative integration of silicon technology, signal processing, communication protocols, distributed-computing, smart dialog management.

Dr. Sicconi co-founded dreyev with CEO Malgorzata Stys in 2016 to address real-time driver attention monitoring to prevent distracted and drowsy driving. Driving behavior analysis for fair and accurate risk-based insurance policy pricing. Driving coaching bot.

Dr Sicconi is also the co-founder of TeleLingo to provide live, interactive, remote one-on-one tutoring of foreign languages, English as a Second Language, pronunciation and negotiation skills refinement for business professionals. Smart videoconferencing, blended learning, tools for cadenced practice and automated progress monitoring.

Dr Sicconi is co-Founder and CSO at Infermedica, which empowers healthcare companies with Artificial Intelligence and Smart Heath Advisory Bots.

Dr Sicconi has extensive knowledge of Computer Architectures, Mobile and Interactive Entertainment devices for access to information anytime, anywhere, via human-friendly interfaces.

He has held a leadership role in the automotive sector, directing key projects with top OEMs and Tier-1s to advance state of the art of driver safety, navigation, infotainment, connected-car telematics and location-based services.

Dr Sicconi has extensive experience in launching and managing new business initiatives around IBM Watson Question-Answering Technology to address multi-$B level opportunities in Healthcare and Automated Customer Support.

He has over two decades of experience in establishing multi-year multi-million customer engagements across Europe/Asia/ US, leveraging multiple IBM and Customer R&D organizations.

Dr Sicconi has a strong passion for vision and innovation. He is a recognized leader in the use of disruptive technologies and creative business models to enhance mobility, personalized user interfaces, ubiquitous access to information and ultimately quality of life.

Dr. Sicconi has received his MSEE and Doctorate degree from the Politecnico University of Milan, Italy in the area of image processing and Computer Aided Design techniques

Highlights in Dr Sicconi's career include

  1. Launch of IBM’s first Speech Recognition Product worldwide
  2. Decade-long and multiple awards winning collaboration with leading car manufacturers in Japan, Europe and US on navigation and infotainment systems
  3. Program Director role at IBM’s Watson team (first computer to beat human champions at Jeopardy! in 2011).
  4. While at IBM Research he collaborated on two EU-funded projects, dealing with smart speech and video interfaces (CHIL 2003-2006: collaborative interactions across multiple-videoconference sites, DICIT 2006-2009: distant-talking operation of HomeTV equipment).
