Evangelos Skodras

Evangelos is passionate about computer vision applications and innovative technologies. He has an academic background in computer vision and is currently working in the consumer goods industry with a focus on machine vision.

About Evangelos 

Some highlights in Evangelos' academic career include:

  1. Most Innovative App prize for “Eye Type” mobile application at EESTEC International Android Competition 2015
  2. Computer Society Award for “Eye Type” mobile application at IEEE Mobile Application Development Contest 2015
  3. Best Paper Award at the 3rd Panhellenic Student Conference Eureka in 2009

During his PhD, Evangelos participated in more than four EU projects, including “MOMIRAS” which involved the development of a mobile mixed reality system. He also worked for a three month period as a visiting PhD researcher with the Multimedia Signal Processing Group at EPFL, Lausanne, Switzerland. He has published 3 peer-reviewed journal articles and 7 conference papers.

Evangelos has received his degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the University of Patras, Greece, in 2009 and is currently completing his PhD in the same department (expected June 2016).
